Lao leaders appreciate the effective cooperation with the MIC of Vietnam

On March 12, in Vientiane, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Laos Somedee Duangdee cordially received the delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, headed by Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam Nguyen Manh Hung, who is paying a working visit in Laos from March 11-13.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung reported to the Deputy Prime Minister the results of the two previous talks with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Communication of Laos, as well as the direction of cooperation in  the coming time, especially in the field of information technology, aiming at bringing IT cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Communication of Laos became a model partnerships in the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his wish that the Deputy Prime Minister would continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in Laos, especially businesses operating in the field of IT.

Deputy Prime Minister Somedee Duangdee highly appreciated the effectiveness of cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the ministries and sectors of Laos. This visit of the MIC delegation is very meaningful, at the time of the IT is taking up an important role in the social life. He stressed that the visit strengthened not only the relationship between the ministries, but also the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, the two States and peoples.

Earlier, the MIC delegation held talks with the delegation of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Communication of Laos, headed by Minister Thansamay Kommasith. At the talks, the two sides highly appreciated the cooperation between the two ministries in the recent years, both at the bilateral and regional levels, as well as exchange  the future cooperation.
 
For Laos, the development of the post, telecommunications and IT industries still faces many challenges, so Laos is keen to cooperate with regional and international countries in this field, contributing to its national socio-economic development, creating favorable conditions for Laos to integrate with the region and the world.
 
Minister Thansamay Kommasith also expressed his wish that the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam continue to help Laos in training human resources in the field of post, telecommunications and IT.
 
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam would continue to work closely with the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Communication, especially in high-qualified human resources, at the same time share experiences in developing the post-telecommunications and IT industry in the digital technology era. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung proposed the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Communication of Laos to continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest and do business in Laos.
 
At the end of the talks, the two sides signed cooperation agreements between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Communication of Laos; between the Authority of Information Security (MIC) and LaoCERT; between Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and E-Government Center (Laos); and Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost) also signed to handover to LaoPost 2 postal cars.
 
Also during the visit to Laos, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and the delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam had a meeting with Vietnamese IT enterprises investing and doing business in Laos.
