Deputy Minister Phan Tam meets the Envoy - Consul General of the Republic of Korea's Embassy to Vietnam

On April 6, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam met Mrs. Lee Miyon, Envoy and Consul General of the Republic of Korea's Embassy to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in general as well as in the field of telecommunications and IT in particular.
  
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the partnership between Vietnam and Korea had been developing in all fields since the two countries upgraded their ties to strategic partners in 2009. During the official visit of South Korean President Moon Jae-in in March 2018, the Ministry of Information and Communications of S.R.Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This memorandum creates conditions for both sides to continue to strengthen cooperation in policy formulation, development and application of new technologies.
 
At the meeting, Mrs. Lee Miyon appreciated the development of Vietnam in all fields of politics - economy - society. Korea has become one of the important strategic partners of Vietnam and Vietnam has become Korea's leading strategic partner in Southeast Asia. ICT cooperation is contributing to deepening this relationship as well as contributing positively to the development of each country.
 
Deputy Minister Phan Tam said that the Ministry of Information and Communications would continue to closely coordinate with other ministries and agencies in Korea to implement effectively and practically signed agreements. He also suggested that Korean enterprises, especially Samsung, LG, SKT, KT continue to promote research and development cooperation with partners in Vietnam, promote the strength of IT human resources facilitate Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the global supply chain, increasing the value in the production process.
