Participants included representatives from Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Peru, Kosovo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Mongolia, Mauritius and Vietnam.
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung said, at present, no country can stand alone against network attacks. In 2017, nearly 200 nations were attacked by WannaCry, Petya, and others. Predictably, the network security situation in 2018 will continue to increase. Hackers will use smarter, more sophisticated and particularly malicious technologies with targeted attacks on critical national infrastructures.
The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that, at the 2nd CAMP Regional Forum, participants would share information, experience and effective discussions on regional and global strategies and legislation on cybersecurity; reliable information, effective means of organizing and administering CERT/CSIRT activities; monitoring, rescue, response activities to new threats and exchanges of cybersecurity standards.
At the forum, delegates from Korea presented a brief overview of the situation of cybersecurity in Korea, including policies, strategies and laws on national cybersecurity; information sharing mechanism; organizations of CERTs/CSIRTs; measures dealing with new attacks, etc.
Representatives from VNCERT also delivered speeches on topics such as coordination activities and responds to network security incidents in Vietnam; The emergence of new cybersecurity threats, etc.
