Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong meets Lao Post

On August, 2, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong received a Lao Post’s delegation led by Mr. Souriya Khambouravong, Head of the Post Department, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Laos to visit and work in Viet Nam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said, in recent years, the cooperation between the two countries’ postal sector had been strengthened.
 
Deputy Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Information and Communication always supported, exchanged and shared experience; facilitated cooperation programs between the two countries in all fields, especially in the field of post.
 
Mr. Souriya Khambouravong affirmed that the assistance of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam had brought about practical benefits, especially important contribution to the improvement of the Laos postal delivery quality; and hoped to continue to receive the attention and support of the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnamese businesses in sharing experience, solving difficulties and problems in the field of postage and delivery of Laos. So that the Lao Postal sector will develop and contribute to the rapid development and modernization of information infrastructure, and provide new services to the Lao people.
 
On the same day, the delegation had a bilateral meeting with the Department of Post (MIC) to exchange information on policies and regulations on the management of postal licenses. From August 3 to 5, the delegation will work with Vietnam Post to discuss business development and service provision; visit and work with Hanoi Central Post Office and Hoa Binh Post Office.
