At the reception, the Minister congratulated Mr. Shim Won Hwan to be appointed as General Manager of Samsung Group in Vietnam.
Regarding Samsung's operation in Vietnam, the Minister emphasized that Samsung should pay more attention to human resource development. The Ministry of Information and Communications has two training institutes: Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Vietnam- Korea Friendship Information Technology College in Da Nang, which were training human resources for IT for the industry as well as the whole society. The Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) is a leading university in the country on IT human resources training.
At the same time, Minister Truong Minh Tuan asked Samsung to pay more attention to the Vietnamese workforce working in the company. Of the 110,000 Vietnamese employees working at Samsung, the majority are female. The Minister suggested that Samsung should have preferential policies suitable for the female staff.
Mr. Shim Won Hwan affirmed that Samsung always attached great importance to human resources development in Vietnam. These human resources play an important role in the operation of Samsung in Vietnam. Samsung will pay more attention to the social welfare and quality of life of female workers at Samsung.
