VNPT presents two smart weather stations to Quang Binh province

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), on May 9, presented two smart weather stations to the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee to assist the central locality in preventing natural disasters.

The weather solution has been developed by VNPT in coordination with Pessl Instruments GmbH Company (Austria) and Meteoblue Weather Forecast Company (Switzerland).
 
According to VNPT, smart weather station is one of the most modern technological solutions in predicting and measuring environmental parameters, contributing to preventing and controlling natural disasters as well as developing agricultural sector.
 
Around 35,000 smart weather stations have been installed in 85 countries around the world, with forecast accuracy of 90% and 70% for weather conditions within 24 hours and six days, respectively.
 
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Chairman of Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Huu Hoai, expressed belief that the two weather stations would positively assist the locality in preventing and controlling floods, reducing losses of lives and property caused by natural disasters.
 
The two stations will be installed at Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district and Chau Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district, he said.
