On March 31, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan attended the Japan-Vietnam ICT Business Forum. The forum was attended by 30 leading ICT enterprises from Japan and Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan Shigeki Suzuki also attended the Forum.

Deputy Minister Suzuki expressed his appreciation to the Forum, and the establishment of a joint working group between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan to promote cooperation.
Minister Truong Minh Tuan affirmed that Vietnam-Japan partnerships had been developing in all fields since the two countries upgraded their relations to strategic partners in 2009. The cooperation in ICT is contributing to deepening this relationship as well as positively contributing to the development of each country. Japan is now the leading economic partner, the largest ODA donor, the No. 2 investor in Vietnam, the fourth largest trading partner of Vietnam. Many leading brands such as Fujitsu , NTT, Canon, NEC, Hitachi,...of Japan have been present and successful in Vietnam.
According to the Minister, Vietnam is a destination for foreign investors, especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology. Along with its favorable geographical position, Vietnam has a transparent legal environment, attractive policies and modern and synchronized infrastructure in hi-tech parks to meet investment demands of foreign corporations.
Vietnam’s ICT companies are developing strongly, with strong potential in terms of capital, technology, human resources and management and exploitation experiences such as VNPT, Mobifone, FPT, VTC. These enterprises receive strong support from the Government with all favourable conditions in cooperation with foreign partners.
"I believe that, through this Forum, Vietnam and Japan’s businesses will find more opportunities for cooperation to bring real benefits to businesses and people, as well as contribute to the development of common relations between the two countries.” Minister Tuan emphasized.
