Under the partnership, the two sides will offer support, training, consulting and assistance in implementing startups in an aim to further the startup culture in HCM City.

The co-operation will help startups apply modern technology, take part in training courses, and connect to the startup community and network.

Vu Minh Tri, CEO of Microsoft Vietnam said Viet Nam was actively helping startups improve so they can grow and contribute to the development of the country.

The co-operation is expected to help startups enrich their operational capacity and achieve stronger connections with each other.

In addition, these key startups would contribute to a more sustainable and stable economy and society, he said.

Microsoft has strong experience in carrying out and supporting startup projects in the global information and technology sector.

Working with the international sector, startups in HCM City will have more favourable conditions to access advanced technologies and connect with other startups.

The co-operation is another important step marking Microsoft’s commitment to the Vietnamese Government to support and enrich the IT capacities of organisations and the government.

SIHUB was established in 2016 following HCM City’s Science and Technology Department’s plan to develop startups in the information and technology field.

The centre aims to become a model for the management and operation of startup incubations, and for support of the startup community.

It also targets connecting HCM City startups with their counterparts in the rest of the country.
