Prime Minister of Laos receives Minister Truong Minh Tuan

On September, 19, at the headquarters of the Government of Laos, in Vientiane, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisulith cordially received the delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications of S.R. Vietnam led by Minister Truong Minh Tuan having a working visit in Laos.

On behalf of the delegation, Minister Truong Minh Tuan Minister expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister and stressed the visit in Laos affirm the determination to consolidate the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the field of information and communication, thereby contributing to further tightening the special friendship between the two parties, two governments and two peoples.

Minister Truong Minh Tuan reported results of cooperation activities between the two countries in the field of information and communications in recent years. With the aim of further promoting cooperation in the coming period, during this visit, the delegation had working sessions with Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos and signed three cooperation documents on information, telecommunications and information security. This will be the legal basis for the two countries cooperate closely and effectively on agreed contents.

Minister Truong Minh Tuan also thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Laos for their supports to programs and cooperative activities between the two countries in the field of information and communications, and hoped to receive continuous supports and affiliations for cooperation projects in this field as well as Vietnam's telecommunications businesses investing in Laos. In addition, the Minister also suggested that Laos continued to support the cooperation in the field of press and publication of the two countries.

 

For his part, Prime Minister of Laos Thongloun Sisulith welcomed the delegation and congratulated results achieved in Vietnam and Laos cooperation in the field of information and communication and hoped that this cooperation would be more effective in the coming period.

Prime Minister suggested the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Laos to continue close cooperation in the field of network security, e-government, LAOSAT’s effective usage and exploitation, etc.
