Minister Truong Minh Tuan receives ASEAN Ambassadors

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan emphasized: The formation of the ASEAN Community in 2015 is a historical landmark in the process of connecting the whole  ASEAN with special important meaning to the Association and the region as well as each member.

 

In the period 2016 - 2017, together with other member countries, Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam will organize many activities to promote ASEAN, including: training courses, seminars and visits for ASEAN journalists; exhibitions of books, photos, films, stamps;... Specially, in 2017, a series of propaganda activities are planned for the 50th anniversary of the Association in 10 countries in the region.

 

Minister Truong Minh Tuan emphasized, MIC was willing to cooperate with the Embassies of ASEAN in implementing diplomatic activities not only in the field of information and communication but also in common diplomatic activities to enhance cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.

 

On this occasion, Minister Truong Minh Tuan suggested the Embassies of ASEAN countries collaborate in receiving ASEAN journalists to Vietnam to learn about the innovation process and development of Vietnam; Coordinate closely with the MIC to organize events such as: videoconferences, competitions and exhibitions on ASEAN hosted by MIC in Vietnam as well as in other countries, especially on the occasion of the 50^th anniversary of ASEAN; Support Vietnam’s press agencies in exploiting information and promote the images of ASEAN countries, peoples and culture in Vietnam; etc.
