Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung receives CEO of Linagora Open Source Software Company

On November, 11th, 2015 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung received Ms. Céline Zapolsky - CEO of Linagora Open Source Software Company (France).

At the meeting, Ms. Céline Zapolsky proposed a number of collaboration activities related to open source software. Linagora desired to share training programs on open source software for students, especially young ones. At present, Linagora is partnering with National University and University of Technology in training open source software. Linagora expects to organize a workshop on open source software in the development of e-government in 2016 to share experiences in developing policies to promote the development of open source software.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and France in recent years. Deputy Minister also highly appreciated the proposals of Linagora, especially the training of open source software for students. Deputy Minister agreed that the Government should have strong policies to support the development of open source software market and the role of education in the development of human resources. Government needed to create conditions for open source software and copyrighted software to compete on equal basis, Deputy Minister stressed.
