At the invitation of Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam Nguyen Bac Son paid a working visit in Japan from July, 6 -9th, 2015.
During the visit, Minister Nguyen Bac Son and the delegation had a bilateral talk with Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, visited and worked with leading corporations in post, telecommunications and IT of Japan; witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between state management agencies and enterprises of the two countries.
At the talk, Minister Nguyen Bac Son affirmed the significance of the visit was to implement the agreement of the two countries and contribute to strengthening and expanding relations of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
Based on the existing cooperation, Minister Nguyen Bac Son suggested the two sides would further strengthen the cooperation in the field of e-government, postal, radio frequency and broadcasting. Vietnam is willing to coordinate with Japan in ensuring information security in the network environment and hopes that Japan will give the priority of ODA to projects on information security in Vietnam .
Minister Sanae Takaichi appreciated the development of Vietnam in the field of ICT and said that Vietnam was in an important guiding role in this area in the ASEAN region. At the same time, she committed that Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan would continue its supports in the training area and corporate with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and JICA in supporting projects on information security in Vietnam.
The two Ministers agreed to maintain regular talks to share information, management experiences to encourage investment and cooperation between postal, telecommunications and IT enterprises of the two countries.
After the talk, leaders of the two ministries had witnessed the signing ceremony of Memorandum on radio frequencies between Authority of Radio Frequency Management of Vietnam and Authority of Radio Frequency Management of Japan; the cooperation agreement between Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPOST) and Japan Post (JPPOST).
On this occasion, Minister Nguyen Bac Son and the working delegation visited, worked with some Japan’s corporations: NTT, Fujitsu, NEC, Nissho, Hitachi and Dai-ichi.
At the NTT Group’s headquarters, the Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between NTT and VNPT.
During the visit, Authority of Information Security of Vietnam and National Information Security Center of Japan (NISC) established the partnership and signed the memorandum of understanding to develop cooperation plans in the future.
On July, 8th, 2015, Minister Nguyen Bac Son co-chaired the Forum on ICT investment promotion between Vietnam - Japan./.
