According to the annual survey on satisfying levels of 3G users in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in 2012, jointly conducted by Vietnam Post Newspaper and the Nielsen Company, 60 percent of 800 interviewed people said they use 3G daily, an increase of 18 percent compared to the 2011 report.

The role of 3G technology in connecting people “anytime, anywhere” was confirmed by 90 percent of the interviewees. As many as 85 percent of them considered 3G an effective support tool in their daily life while 88 percent said this technology will become a popular trend in the future.

Nearly half of them (48 percent) thought that 3G is able to replace Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology, while 37 percent said that the numbers of 3G and ADSL users in the nation are equal.

Most of the interviewed (about 95 percent) said they do not intend to stop using this technology in the coming time.

About two thirds of people said they use 3G on mobile phones for reading news, searching information, joining social networks, listening to and downloading music and watching films.

The 3G users said they are satisfied with network coverage but dissatisfied with connection speeds. Therefore, customers’ satisfaction with the quality of the 3G service slightly dropped from 71 points in 2011 to 64 points in 2012 based on a 100-point scale.
