The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Cooperation between MIC and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan

On January 9, 2020, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung received Ms. Takaichi Sanae - Minister of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan.

 At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and Minister of Home Affairs and Communications Takaichi Sanae gave overview of the development in the field of Information and Communications of each country. At the same time, the two Ministers frankly exchanged issues of mutual interest such as: policies and management regulations in ​​Information and Communications, E-Government, Smart City, 5G development, Information security, IT applications, Post, broadcasting, human resource, etc.

 Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared, 2020 is the year that both Vietnam and Japan announced they will commercialize 5G. The two Ministers agreed to work together to research, develop 5G standards, ensure security for 5G networks and jointly develop 5G Ecosystem for the future.
 
Also at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung informed Minister Takaichi Sanae that Vietnam will host the ITU Digital World (formerly ITU Telecom World) exhibition in September 2020 in Hanoi and sincerely invite Minister Saka Takaichi Sanae to attend this event and give a speech here.
 
After the meeting, the two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on ministerial-level cooperation in the field of information and communication, including: Sharing policies and management regulations in the field of Information and Communications, E-Government, and smart city, IT application, Digital transformation and 5G development, Standard, Information security, Human resource development, Multilateral cooperation, Broadcasting, and other fields.
 
The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan was made in the period from 2020 to 2023.
