Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao works with Facebook

On November 5, at the Ministry's Headquarter, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao had a meeting and working session with Facebook representatives headed by Mr. Simon Milner, Vice President in charge of Public Policy in Asia-Pacific.

Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao affirmed that the State of Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including Facebook, to operate and do business in Vietnam. And Facebook needs to work closely with Vietnam’s authorities and comply with the legal laws.

 Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao also frankly shared, in the recent time (from June 2019), the cooperation between Facebook and the Ministry of Information and Communications in issues of removing malicious information has not been as expected.
 
Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao also suggested that Facebook should actively cooperate, regularly exchange and coordinate closely with the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnamese authorities to remove malicious information, that affects national security, social order and safety, and protect user personal information, contribute to ensuring network security and healthy cyberspace.
 
At the meeting, Mr. Silmon Miller affirmed: Facebook is ready to support Vietnam in the fields related to the development of digital ecosystems.
 
Mr. Silmon Miller said that Facebook has officially expanded its production to Vietnam, with the new generation Oculus Rift S virtual reality glasses and is actively seeking partners in Viet Nam. This is an important step in Facebook's commitment to invest in Vietnam and is part of Facebook's efforts to diversify production in the global supply chain.
 
The Facebook representative pledged to have regular dialogues with the Ministry of Information and Communications and relevant Vietnamese agencies to jointly build a safe and healthy cyber environment.
