This is ASEAN's specialized meeting on content and production, held annually on a voluntary basis. Vietnam's hosting of the meeting demonstrates its role, responsibility and dynamism in the ASEAN Community.
At the meeting, participants listened to the updated report on the progress of the implementation of the Information and Communication Strategy for the period 2016-2025 and the Media Master Plan 2018-2025 in ASEAN, discussed the upcoming cooperation direction and proposed proposals to the higher levels.
Vietnam has also proposed initiatives on setting up the ASEAN Correspondent Network and exchanging news, the framework of co-producing programs between ASEAN countries and dialogue countries. Information is an important field to raise awareness about ASEAN, to make a deep understanding among ASEAN countries about culture, history, religion, economy; to create motivation to develop ASEAN Community.
