The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.

Viewing the press as a component of culture and a tool to promote culture, he said that each press work is a cultural product and each journalist is a solider on the cultural front.

Therefore, he called on closer coordination between culturists and journalists in producing press works which promote positive behaviour among readers.

He asked the local newspapers, radios and television stations to launch a column and increase the number of products on encouraging a good culture in behaviour among the public.

Participants at the event discussed the general features and current situation of Vietnamese people’s behaviour in social life, as well the role of the press in stimulating good people doing good deeds.

They also proposed solutions to improve the efficiency of press agencies in popularising the standards for the culture of behaviour.
